Slot Machine positioning
Posted in Slots on 05/21/2025 07:25 am by KayleeBooks have been set forth on this matter, and the bickering and ruckus about where the "hot" one armed bandits are located in the casino are still intense – over 60 years after slot games were 1st placed in gambling houses.
The standard rule is that the superior slot machine games were located just inside the entrance of the casino; so that persons going by would be able to see actual jackpot winners … be enthralled to come into the casino … play. Our feeling is that this is definitely no longer true.
Just about all of the mega casinos these days are herculean complexes and now you can’t see inside from the sidewalk, so there’s no longer a reason to position the ‘loose’ slot machines near any of the doors.
An additional standard rule is that loose slot games are located on the major aisles inside the casinos, again so that more potential gamblers could see winning jackpots and be galvanized to play. Importantly though, we find that this also is no longer a universal rule.
What casinos found over the years is that people walking down the busy aisles were frequently on the way to somewhere else. If they played slot games at all, they would simply put in their loose change because they happened to be walking by. Win or lose, they would very often not stop to keep playing. And the last thing a casino wants is for someone to win a jackpot by playing only a few coins and then not stay to put it all back in!
Nowadays, casinos are constantly changing their perspective about where to place the loose one armed bandits.
